Interstitial cystitis is a chronic disease that causes inflammation in our bladder. In this disease, the patients get acute or sever pain while passing urine. Also this disease is called bladder infection. Anyone can suffer from this painful disease. But mostly it affects the women as they have very short urethra. And the bacteria that are the cause of this disease enter easily their urinary tract through urethra tube. Then the bacteria start to keep multiplying themselves there. Normally, the urine contains of fluids, salt, and waste products. But when bacteria enter, the urinary tract gets infected. Also this disease is common in young ones and teens. The women get infected by this infection mostly during their menopause period. In addition to it, pregnant women get infected by this infection as well. It is common in young children and teens as well.

There are many symptoms of interstitial cystitis. The acute pain during urinating is common among the patients of this disease. Some patients urinate at the night frequently. Some patients urinate after every ten minutes. Some patients get the feeling of burning sensation while passing urine. Some can get the pain after sexual intercourse. Apart from it, some patient gets pelvic pain. Pelvic pain is a long-term pain in both men and women. There are many ways to prevent from interstitial cystitis. You can consult with your doctor whenever you feel the acute pain in your bladder. Mostly, the doctor recommends the antibiotics to patients of this disease. However, we should not take any antibiotics without consulting doctor.

But you can take precautions to prevent you from interstitial cystitis. Water is very essential for our body and we all know this thing very well. And it helps in eliminating the bacteria from our body. Therefore, we should drink more than 2 liters water a day. Drinking water is not only helpful in this disease but also in other diseases. We should drink juice and tea daily. Moreover, we should change our undergarments daily. We should not use strong perfumes around genital areas. Also we should maintain proper hygiene after and before sex intercourse. There is also exercise to make our bladder strong. The name of that exercise is kegel. This exercise is an effective for both men and women. The most important thing about this disease is that sugar plays an important role. So we should try to use less sugar as it invites bacteria strongly.
